The International Longshoremens Association

LOCAL 1526 Chartered on August 31, 1937; Local 1526 currently has 840 members. Local 1526-A was chartered on April 29, 1957 and The Ladies Auxiliary, Chapter #43 was chartered on April 28, 1969. The International Longshoremen's Association, AFL-CIO is the largest union of maritime workers in North America, representing upwards of 65,000 longshoremen on the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, Great Lakes, major U.S. rivers, Puerto Rico and Eastern Canada.
